The Department of Respiratory Medicine is seeking a qualified Respiratory Clinical Physiologist to join our multi-disciplinary team and help deliver a comprehensive respiratory and sleep diagnostic service to the population of Milton Keynes, and the surrounding area.
The department provides a broad range of respiratory physiological measurements including full PFT’s, walk tests, ambulatory oxygen assessments, plethysmography, skin prick testing, mannitol & hypoxic challenges, sleep studies and CPAP.
The holder of this post will be expected to liaise with patients, carers and other healthcare professionals (across primary and secondary care) to provide and improve respiratory services. They will also develop links to improve the performance of spirometry, and any other respiratory diagnostic procedures, in primary care settings.
The ideal applicant will need to be efficient, organised and flexible to be able to cope with varying demands on their time and skills. The successful applicant would have a Clinical Physiology Degree (Respiratory) or equivalent, be eligible for voluntary registration under the RCCP.
The post will be based in the Lung Function Unit at Milton Keynes Hospital.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
