Safeguarding & Patient Quality Team Administrator

Department Safeguarding & Quality

Band  4   pro rata if part-time

Hours: 22.5 per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working.

An exciting opportunity for a Safeguarding & Patient Quality Team Administrator has arisen within the Safeguarding & Quality Team.

The Quality & Safeguarding department is fast-paced, and no two days are the same. It is therefore essential that the successful Administrator can work well under pressure, always maintaining a pleasant and professional attitude at all times. You will hold excellent communication and interpersonal skills that enable you to liaise with professionals, patients, and clinical teams. Main duties of the job

The successful Administrator will be expected to provide a comprehensive, efficient and effective service. This will include but not be limited to, liaising with professionals, patients, and members of staff, processing referrals, answering the telephone, setting up meetings & minutes, along with collaborative working with other teams/team members.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • To provide administrative support to the
  • To be the first point of contact for all telephone and visitor queries about safeguarding from the public and professionals and deal with them appropriately and
  • To assist with the capture of accurate data and with the maintenance of accurate safeguarding

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • 5 GCSE's (or equivalent) at 'pass' level including English GCSE Grade A to C or equivalent
  • Maths GCSE Grade A to C or equivalent
  • IT qualification of at least RSA Ill or equivalent including Word for Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet. e-mail
Desirable criteria
  • Customer Care course

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Basic knowledge of Child Protection Issues
  • Basic knowledge of Adult Safeguarding Issues
  • Comprehensive understanding of managing office systems
  • Setting up and managing office systems
  • Working as effective member of team
Desirable criteria
  • General understanding of the NHS

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Excellent written skills - ability to draft letters and reports on behalf of the safeguarding hub
  • Able to prioritise work in a busy environment and able to negotiate priorities with different staff members
  • Experience of working in a team and of developing effective working relationships with staff at all levels.

  • Minute and note taking
  • Provides good attention to detail - a 'completer - finisher'
